About Joyce Ogden
Joyce Ogden’s work engages the viewer in a variety of dialogues with nature, time, and
space. Often possessing an ephemeral quality, her sculptures encompass a wide range of
materials, including polyurethane, sand, water, air, and light. Her work has been exhibited
throughout the southeast, including The Cressman Center for the Visual Arts, Northern
Kentucky University, Bellarmine University, The Speed Museum, The Carnegie Visual
and Performing Art Center, The Owensboro Museum, The Kentucky Museum of Art
and Design, Zephyr Gallery and Heike Pickett Gallery, in Kentucky; The Contemporary Art Center
in Atlanta; The Durham Arts Council Pavilion and East Carolina University in North Carolina.
In addition to her studio work, Ms. Ogden works both independently and with students
generating large-scale, community-based collaborative projects.
Ms. Ogden is the recipient of grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women
and the Kentucky Arts Council. She is a founding member of ENID, a Louisville based women
sculptors’ organization. She has been reviewed in regional as well as national publications.
Ms. Ogden resides in Louisville, Kentucky where she teaches at Spalding University.
